Why Vitamin C Needs To Be A Part Of Your Skincare Routine

Dull skin is not a good look. Thankfully, the fix for this issue is super simple: Vitamin C. You might be familiar with it as an immune system booster or as a remedy for colds, but did you know it's also great for your skin? Here are some reasons why you should start incorporating it into your skincare routine.

For skin structure

Vitamin C is great for supporting your skin's structural framework. It helps make collagen, which is a protein that keeps your skin firm and plump. As you get older, your body makes less collagen, which can cause wrinkles and saggy skin. But taking Vitamin C can help your skin make more collagen, keeping it looking young and smooth.

For skin protection

Vitamin C is also very helpful in fighting off free radicals that can hurt your skin and make it age faster. These free radicals come from things like pollution and the sun's rays. When you use vitamin C on your skin, it acts like a barrier, protecting you from these bad guys and keeping your skin healthier for longer.

For skin evenness

Vitamin C can help even out your skin tone and lighten dark spots, making your skin look more uniform and radiant. If you have patches or spots on your skin that are uneven in tone, Vitamin C might be just what you need to help even them out and give your skin a brighter appearance.

How to incorporate Vitamin C

The easiest way to add vitamin C into your skincare routine is by rotating in products that are formulated with it. Vitamin C is found in many skincare products like serums, creams, and cleansers. Just check the label to see if it's included.

When you're ready to use your Vitamin C product, apply a small amount to your clean, dry face and gently massage it in. Make sure to cover your whole face, especially any areas with dark spots or uneven skin tone. You can use it in the morning or evening, whichever works best for you.

After using Vitamin C, be sure to follow up with a moisturizer and sunscreen during the day to keep your skin protected.
